The 66th Lindskoog Family Reunion was held at the Lake Forest Preserve at Half Day Road on Saturday June 28th, 2014. It was hosted by the Petersens, the Millers, and the Roger & Pat Lindskoog families. 46 family members & one pup gathered to take advantage of the beautiful day to enjoy fun in the sun. There was fried chicken, Swedish meatballs, hot dogs for the kids, hardtack, rolls, a delicious veggie salad, German potato salad, fresh fruit, and for dessert Swedish flop cake, brownies, Rice Krispies bars. Everything was amazing! Did I mention drinks were also provided, all for the incredible price of only $5.00 per adult & kids ate free.

The oldest in attendance was Marlene Goodman and the youngest was her Great Grandson Daniel Guziec. Jim & Ottis Lindskoog came the farthest, traveling all the way from Atlanta. After celebrating their 50th Anniversary with their family in Gatlinburg, Steve & Eleanor showed up with their Grandsons Colton & Brett Centnarowicz. The family sang Happy Birthday to Birthday Boy Liam Murray, celebrating his second birthday. Erick & Mark Pechnick won both the egg & water balloon toss. Pat Lindskoog won the dollar raffle. Julie Murray did a wonderful job running the kids games, which featured plenty of water on a hot day. Jerry Petersen also had the kids toss wet sponges at his face, always fun.

It’s just a shame that more family members didn’t make the Reunion enough of a priority to be there, but those who did, had a great time! Next year’s Reunion will be hosted by the Gloria Mallasch Family, Saturday, June 27th, 2015, in Waupaca at Brainard’s Bridge. As is always the case, Be there or Be Square! Seriously, hope to see each & every one of you there, make it a priority, have fun, & keep this wonderful tradition, started by Erik Lindskoog & Alice Porrey, so long ago, going! It would be great to have 200+ family members in attendance, mark your calendars!
